We have a preference for U.S.-based companies that are able to offshore their non-critical components of their business and take advantage of the low-cost intellectual and manufacturing resources in China and Southeast Asia. In cases where we act as the lead investor, we must be readily accessible to the management team; therefore, we prefer to invest in companies that are based in the U.S. East Coast. Nonetheless, we will often consider investments in other geographies (including Asian Pacific Rim), when we invest as part of a syndicate with local lead investors who share similar investment philosophies.
